I'm personally tired to seeing the same ole, same ole stallions touted over and over again in our steadily decreasing genetic pool of SE's. I think we should let people know about stallions that are someone's pride and joy, or may be sitting around mowing the grass or one's we have seen and think would be worth tooting the owners' horns (that is if they don't mind.)

Finding something today, that doesn't have twenty-two lines to Ansata or Imperial, is really difficult (not that they aren't nice horses) or even Minstril, but there were other lines out there for awhile, such as the Gleannloch. Pritzlaff and others, and these horses are or have nearly disappeared.

It would nice to have a thread where people talk or would comment on stallions they've seen or even their own (no this is not advertising) just to let those of us, who are looking for colts or stallions which have been overlooked in both the economic downturn, but also because the owners just are not able to spend their childrens' tuition advertising and why they think this fellow would be good on a date. If there is a response, I'll name a couple that I think are worth the effort, while they are still here and young enough to have people make a trip to see these gentlemen.

Thoughts, comments, opinions?

Well, I'll start off and brag on my mare's sire, Akid Kasim (Nabiel X Akid Hanalei). I recently saw a picture of him ridden in costume being used as one of the rotating photos on the AHA page :) You can visit his page at http://fdarabs.tripod.com/kasim.html . I'm not *certain* if his owner is still taking breedings, but he is a fine stallion who I think deserves more use. His most noted offspring is FDA Badmoonrising, who some people will remember from his costume class wins at the Event.

Kasim is a big fellow, and very, very friendly! Just standing in his stall in the middle of winter he left me with a very favorable impression. I think he is a good blend of the *Sakr strength and motion and the Moniet elegance and beauty.

Yes, write what you want. If it can be considered advertising, try to tweek it a bit so we won't get some hysterical response, since this should be looked at a sort of catalog with some bragging rights. Let us know where the horse is and why you like him.

I'll start with one - which is in Ohio, owned by Pam Studebaker, Jill Erismen and Deb Switzer - very rare breeding - Razal Ibn Azalia - needs to be seen, is one of a kind and will be going going gone soon. A Raadin Inshalla son out of a Maard daughter (Disaan), this horse suffered a knee injury, but is stiil a lovely horse with a long well shaped neck, beautiful hip, big eyes and, best of all, I have his only daughter (i think) with a mare back in foal spit spit spit (to keep the evil eye away).

So you tell me one and I'll give you another. Remember toot your own horn.

I also like Debra Nowaks's Abraxas Moonstruck - there is a horseman's horse - Southern California .

Jeannette Jardine has Moon Sheine (El Hilal X Nafairtiti) in Southern Saskatchewan, and he is getting "up there" too. A very under used chestnut stallion that I wish I could have in my backyard. I do have his daughter though.

Well, obviously I want to brag up my boy's sire, Masada el Bahim. Gorgeous, I suspect him to be homozygous black, fabulous old blood and every bit the quality you would expect of any horse bred by Walter Schimanski.

http://www.allbreedp...masada+el+bahim

But here's another serious back yard treasure. This horse is grey... incredible old bloodlines. I've liked him since the day I saw him... and I like what he throws. But this summer, this always nice horse has really... and I mean really... come into his own. He's jaw droppingly stunning!

http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/index.php?...l_font=1&l=

And yet another treasure for those who are fans of Princeton Faaris/Mahrouf horses... this chestnut stallion is exquisite. Gorgeous, thick long tail, beautiful neck and faboulously put together. I was considering an outcross of my Tuhotmos mare to the grey above... this is the breeder's suggestion instead. Who knows... I may do both. :)

http://www.allbreedp...jds+ahmarfasaad

And finally, last but not least, he's got a bay stallion out there... like many babson's, he's a bit thick in the neck... but a solid, well built boy. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what his pedigree is. Scot considers him the best horse on the property.

This breeder is moving to Grand Forks, BC... so for anyone with the opportunity... these hidden treasures are well worth a visit.

Yup... I know, I know... I keep going on about his horses... but he does have some nice ones. All I can do is look and drool... and then look at pedigrees and drool some more...

Not a problem, Angela. I've been wanting to get over there and see his herd for quite some time. Alberta's loss, is BC's gain. Maybe I will get there now, LOL

My stallions have no Imperial, no Minstril, and no Ansata. You can look at my web site, navidadarabianfarm.com, which Angela and I are still working on. Nile bred a friends mare this summer so have an outside foal due in June of next year. Jan

Friends have AK Prince Sabah. He is 21 years old. He has sired some really nice offspring for them and one of them is a very good endurance stallion.

I've got a Granddaughter of his who I consider a treasure - was very level headed under saddle, great mom & even tho' she's only 14.3 one of her daughters got the size from the daughter's sire & Kasim - 14.1 at 12 mo.s. The Kasim Grdtr has an excellent elbow & good shoulder, good use of her back end-great spring to her trot.

I think I have a treasure in my young stallion, and although yes he is VERY heavy Ansata bred and a dash of Imperial. His pedigree consist of what I consider the pre Iemhotep Ansata. He is Zandai Nile Zavon and bred by Dr.William Hudson, he is sired by the ONLY SE Ansata Omar Halim son in the U.S. (to my knowledge) Zandai Ibn Omar. Ibn Omar is out of Ansata Dia Halima, full sister to Ansata Halima Son, Ansata Halim Bey, Ansata El Mabrouk ...and full blood sister to the wonderful Ansata Samantha.

Nile Zavon's dam is Zandai Nile Aziza, a beautiful dtr of the impressive Imperial Mistry (Mosry x Ansata Nile Mist) Nile Aziza's sire is the U.S. top ten Futurity stallion Ansata Ibn Aziza (Ansata Halima Son x Ansata Aziza) the Nile line is not that easy to find now adays, most reside in the Middle East now. His dam is bred very similar to the dam of Farid Nile Moon and bares a strong resemblence to her. Nile Zavon turned 5 this summer and has not been bred as of yet...BUT...will be this coming spring, our El Halimaar dtr who is out of a Ansata Halim Shah dtr...she is double Maar Ree female tail line TOP and Bottom of pedigree....(Love Maar Ree)

Then to our ET Crown Prince dtr, Krown Princess who is out of the late *Ramses Sadaka (Seef x Yomna - Galal x Ameena) she is the last foal of the late *Ramses Sadaka who is also the dam to Ramses Mahal and Ramses Rasul. So we look forward to the first foals to see what genetic strengths lay in his pedigree and the mares he is crossed with. In the future our Richter MH dtr will also be bred to him, she is out of the same dam as our EL Halimaar dtr (Ansata Halim Shah) and is also double Maar Ree bred. So continue the Ansata/Babson cross in pedigree.

I have an interesting SE Asil stallion living with me here in the UK. Bred at the EAO Goudah (GadAllah x Ramiah) would certainly open up the SE/Asil gene pool in the West. You can see more of this sweet kind stallion on my website. Here are a couple of photos of Goudah and his two yearling daughters Navaz Bint Goudah the pinky coloured grey and Durra Bint Goudah is the darker grey. Durra is Asil as she is out of my Asil Bahraini mare Shuwaimeh Danah. Navaz is 50% SE 25% Crabbet and 25% Bahraini.

The quarantine/ semen collection centre is almost completed on my farm which will enable us to offer frozen semen for export early 2010.

Thank you. Goudah is beautiful in every way right through to his heart as you can see in the photo where he is reassuring a visiting vet student that Arabian stallions are not at all hysterical and over excited about life. He has a rapidly expanding 'hareem' of ladies here in the UK and this summer covered UK Champion Endurance mare and WAHO Trophy winner Franzara. Lesley Dunn of Warren Hills Arabians brought Franzara to Goudah after seeing the quality of the foals he has been producing. As I am very keen to produce good ridden horses the quality of the mares being brought to Goudah has been very encouraging.

Great thread! We have two colts that I'll brag about. One is LAA Aziim who is by the Gleannloch bred Amiin+// and out of an Abbasiyah Stud bred mare, Nenaa (*Serag x Nilequest Lady). He is currently with Larry Westmoreland at West Wind Training Center and is getting started under saddle. Larry says this colt will be an excellent working cow horse like his sire or a phenomenol hunter pleasure horse if he were taken in that direction. Larry has encouraged us not to geld him as he feels he has potential and value as a stallion.

Our other colt is LAA Nar Azar by Kehilan's outcross stallion, Vanylla Ice, and out of a Mkhsous daughter (Mahkira) who is a 3/4 sister to Makhnificent KA. This colt is a very flashy mover with good conformation and
is turning out to be a handsome colt. Becky at Kehilan feels this colt has stallion potential and he has been left intact for now.

Both colts have pedigrees that have no or little Ansata/Imperial and no Minstrel.

Talika Farad, my boy :) His first dressage test he more or less said - what, why am I going around in circles!
His second dressage test (he's only done two) a few hours later, he said - ok, this is what you want, and at the end his halt earned him an 8/10.
He is Lord of all he sees and has a long narrow paddock that runs almost the length of the property so he can track the mares who are right beside him.
Farad, with the mares he has been bred to, lets the mare take precedence. Sometimes the chestnuts tend to more of him, depending on the strength of other chestnut genes within the mare's pedigree.

Greenmantle Ghashahn, my other boy :)
This photo was taken in June just after Ghashahn was allowed the freedom of his big paddock after breaking his leg in February 2009. He's had one non-asil foal and hopefully, we'll breed him this season to a few of our mares including the sE mother (Talika Sirina bint Sirdahn) and daughter by Talika Farad - Agecroft Sidra. Hoping for a filly from Sirina.

Lorriee, you think of Ansata and Imperial, I think of Simeon! Neither of my boys above have Simeon bloodlines, though both have a few crosses to Ansata. Ghashahn has more Nazeer crosses of two.

edited to add... Farad's almost yearling son from Sirina. Photos taken yesterday while experimenting with the DSLR
