In light of LMG's quest, I would like to bring this father/son team up. I know there is accomplished race blood here, but didn't know if anyone had seen either horse or their progeny. Strengths? Weaknesses? Anything would be helpful :68416045.wGDPMlLK.popcorn:

They were well built horses, though a little plain. Jan

Jerry & Mitzi Peterson up in Oregon, Redmond if I remember right, have a very lovely Falzan son, Last Chance Too. They brought him to the AK convention a couple of years ago in Paso Robles. His dam was a Nabiel daughter if I remember right. Not too tall, but very pretty, very sweet. Compact,  smooth body, great legs & movement. Jerry let me go into the stall and introduce myself, as I have long been fascinated by this very underused family. Tous Crins, AKA Juniper, probably still has some photos on her website. Really lovely horse, very nice owners. Sure wish they were a lot closer, as I would very much like to ad this Emem sireline to the place. I started my SE breeding with a MArshall II daughter that I lost foaling, and want the blood back!

Dear VanAlma

I had 'FAWZAN" in my quarantine in Canada in 1970. He had piroplasmosis and was treated successfully. He was an excellent stallion, correct with super movement. He was a sweetheart too.
He was a race winner in Egypt. I truly liked that horse.
The Agri gave an over 4% injection for the piro, and he went down, stopped breathing.Within seconds got up and lived. Two other died, as it was an overdose. they then reduced the percentage to 1,75.%. Vets were amazed of this stallion's resilience. I wanted to keep him to breed some of our imported mares to him for a year, but Jum kline wanted him home to compliment Tala's
production.

Yes 'Last Chance" I truly liked, excellent mover and sweetheart.

I worked with *Fawzan on a daily basis  while working at Serenity in 1971.  Powerful, animated and correct with a heart of gold.  He wasn't extremely typy but I'd never considered him plain. He was definitely underused.   I've only seen photos of Falzan but he was a halter champion.
Last Chance Too (Falzan X Le Kameesha Amira [Amir Ibn Sakr X IES Kameesha to *SerenityBintNadia]) is of the rare Kuhaylan no substrain line.
Hope that helps.              :bigemo_harabe_net-123:

Lou Ann Fitchs' Awwali is by Abu Ali out of a Falzan daughter. From what I've been told by Juniper, who went up to see him a couple of years ago, he is also a real sweetie. Again, up in the Pacific Northwest, on an island off the coast of Washington. Sigh. I think they all need to move closer to me! But that's a fantasy, of course. Awwali was in training for cutting, last I heard. He had an injury in a trailer wreck that ended a promising race career- had to have a steel plate in his forhead to replace part or a fractured skull! Ughh! you would certainly never know it from his 'after' video or photos, he is a really beautiful horse. Again, a straighter profile, but very dry, extremely powerful mover.

And thank you Barbara for your additional comments on Fawzan. He was right near me when I was in college at Cal Poly, & I never saw him. I saw *Talal, *Morgana, and some of Jims' other mares at an open house at Klines. somwtime around 1980, but he did not bring out *Fawzan. *Talal was his favorite, & Mr. Kline could be sort of funny that way.

I saw Last Chance  at the Fantasia in Paso Robles, a couple of years ago, and liked him.   I understand he was again shown at the joint Al Khamsa/CMK meeting in August in Oregon.  Someone posted a picture of him, under saddle at that event, and he was very attractive. It might have been a photo by Christine, but I'm not sure.

I knew that Falzan had left Whinny Farms in OR, and was very excited to see him actively being used to produce SE foals in his twilight years:

http://paradiserancharabians.com/

I had wanted to use him with Eaglet, but she passed away after her second Ravenwood Royalty son.  I'm not in a position to either breed a mare to him right now, or purchase a foal, but I am very hopeful that when my situation improves I'll be able to add this line.

I understand Falzan was a Most Classic Head winner in addition to being a race winner, so was surprised by the "plain" comment earlier in this discussion.  He seemed very pretty in his promo photos.  But I never saw him in person.  Of course, I also don't accept that the current showring head style is at all pleasing, so...

Sandy, Thank you for mentioning our boy AWWALI, but I must correct the pedigree you mentioned for him.  AWWALI is a 1996, S.E., Chestnut Stallion.  His sire is the Gleannloch bred stallion ABU ALI (*Ibn Hafiza x *Nabilahh).  AWWALI's dam is the Kline bred mare FAWLA (*Fawzan x Talya).  (I purchased FAWLA (*Fawzan x Talya) because I was racing my Arabians.....)

Anyway, FAWLA is a paternal half sister to the stallion FALZAN.

The mix up probably came about because in 1997 I bred FAWLA (*Fawzan x Talya) to her paternal half brother FALZAN (*Fawzan x Falmona).  This resulted in the lovely chestnut filly FANNIYA FAY (Falzan x Fawla).  She definitely took after the Falmona lines in her pedigree!!  Very beautiful.

I am no longer breeding horses and FANNIYA FAY is a pasture pet that I would like to find a breeding home for.  If anyone is interested please let me know.
