At the 2008 EE - this stallion knocked my socks off, of course I'm a fan of Akid Geshan and it was his son. His movement was breath taking - very aware that he was hot stuff, when not asked to be "on" his head came down, very relaxed & quiet - just the kind of horse I look for.
Both his sire & dam are by Nabiel - seems like he'd be a good breeding stallion with that kind of linebreeding influence.
I realize I've been on the sidelines for some months, but I go to arabdatasource and he's got 10 offspring -the last registered were born 2007!
Does his semen not ship?
The economy hit bottom & people aren't breeding much anyway, let alone ship their mares?
What's the story?
Anybody got pictures of his get?
I like the fact that you don't have to get a grey from him like Geshan.
Look forward to hearing some answers, pictures....anything
from out of the loop jb

He's been for sale at least since he won. He's at Mike Neal's.

Thank You Valerie,
The dam of HDA Dimira was bred to him twice, so they must have liked what they got first time - the dam's not SE, of course.
Sharru KA - they've bred his dam twice to him, so they must have like that cross, too. The dam is SE, a Minstril dtr - really like the horses in her tail female.
thanks again

Jacque,

I saw your post on another forum and posted a reply there but thought I'd add these photos here as well. I don't think you would go wrong breeding to Samir if you're looking for a "doing" horse. These photos are of a stallion with Ansata Ibn Sudan/Shaikh Al Badi breeding on top and out of a Nabiel daughter. He's scary smart, extremely athletic, and extraordinarily personable. He has been shown in dressage, and I was told by four different Grand Prix dressage trainers that he had the ability to go to the top. I only wish I'd had the money and the talent (myself) to get him there!

Ok, Ray, just the facts ma'am (er, Sir)!

This is Arabest Kaliel who is by Arabest Kalid (A. Ibn Sudan x Ruminaja Alia) and out of Arabest Denabiela (Nabiel x Bint Durral), making him about 98% Egyptian.

Here are some head shots for you too...and since we're going real crazy with the photos, I'll put on a couple more extra action ones too.

Enjoy!

Betty,

Your boy is gorgeous!!! I remember his sire when he was at Arabest and almost purchased a son years ago...he was an excellent sire IMO....Ansata leased him for a season or two. About Samir, I remember him with the Kings who lived right up the road from me in the U.P. of Michigan before way before he became supreme champion at the Event.

Thanks Betty - he's a dandy!

One of the things that intrigued me was the black on his face. I guess the Bedu used this as one of the measures of a Kuhaylan (not the strain, but meaning pure). An interesting pedigree on the bottom and he does go back in tail-female to Rodania, so he really is Kuhaylan in strain. Also, I don't think I've seen much in the way of what Ruminaja Alia produced - she's Hadban through *Serenity Sabra, Shahrzada, Yosreia, etc.

So he is a 1988 model and still ready to do Grand Prix dressage?

Oh no...he's in his senior years now, but in his mind he still thinks he could do it--giving me that shove that says, "Just go get the bloomin' saddle!" He practices levade and caprioles and other unnamed acrobatic stunts almost every day while playing with his favorite ball! I don't have the heart to tell him we're stuck with trail riding these days.

Oh Betty,
Thanks so much for that extra information & pictures - he really is stunning.
If I do get a chance to breed my mare(has Ansata Ibn Sudan on the sire side) to Arabest Samir & get a filly I'm likely to breed her back into R.Ali lines - so glad to see what a great cross that can be with the Ansata Ibn Sudan in the mix.
Also have another mare that shows that same amount of air inches in her trot - needs a bit better shoulder/elbow & sl. better hock for FEI dressage - maybe I can get that from an Arabest Samir cross.
Thanks again for your input.
JacqueB
