We had a fun photo shoot last week with Sandie with the camera and me handling... we need to formally introduse ourselves but this is on the tip of our tongue at the moment. Madreya has settled in beautifully and his first mares are in foal. Although we have him leased for this season only we are very proud of him and enjoy his presence at Holly Farm. Unfortunately we have the honor of offering him for sale to a very fortunate purchaser. http://www.hollyfarm...d/madreya.shtml

Madreya (Simeon Stav x MB Madirah (Imperial Madheen)), he is a huge power house of bloodlines. His sire is known to us all from Pearsons View and Simeon Stav's very famous Black full brother Simeon Sadik (Asfour x Simeon Safanad). This highly significant family trace to the distinctive damline through 27 Ibn Galal 5 being line bred and pure in strain to Hind (also dam of Yosreia (Aswan)

Madreya's dam is owned by Al Saba Egyptian Stud where this glorious black beauty graces their breeding program, MB Madirah (Imperial Madheen x Indirah (Habib)).

Indirah, also black is from a very rare and significant damline also via Babolna. The extra ordinary descendant of the beautiful Bint Farida daughter, Ghazala. Considered to be one of the most beautiful mares to leave Egypt, Ghazala was exported to America where she tragically did not produce a foal. Her daughter by Morafic, Inas however was exported to Hungary and is today one of only two Ghazala daughters that provide a source of her blood.

Hope you enjoy these pictures as we did capturing them.

regards, David and Sandie.

Thank you Jenny, we have updated his web page. http://www.hollyfarm...d/madreya.shtml
It will be very interesting to see the result of our breedings to Madreya. I believe our small collection will produce a very valuable contribution.

Yes thank you. He is contributing to our farm in a very positive way. Always talking as you pass and gracious with his mares. A real pleasure. Next plan is to get him going under saddle. He has been broken to ride some time ago so we will see if they educated him well.

Hi Kathy,

Chaswyk Al Zayd (Asfour x Simeon Shakova (Prince Fa Moniet)) is growing out beautifully. We like our young horses and even more so our colts to grow as naturally and socially interactive as possible. So as precious as he is we have him out in the paddock just eating grass. We are thrilled with how big he is growing. We do intend doing a photo shoot with him as well but not likely till next year.

We are right in the middle of breeding and our Endurance season so just busy enough. Thank you for thinking of our up and coming special boy, he has a wonderful future.

Sandie does a great job with her camera. We no longer have the time to prepare horses for shows as we would like but it is great to have horses that show themselves for the quality they are without too much more than a wash and tidy up. Thank you for your kind words.

Very beautiful!

Madreya has had a few ER foals from Polish/Spanish/Gainey/Crabbet bloodlines and he has shown a definate dominance as a sire. However we can not wait to see what he produces to our band of more complementry bloodlines (in our opinion). If he contributes half of his qualities to those of our mares we will be most pleased... !

That's what we're doing with our little one also. He's our only colt so definitely precious to us. They seem to like the natural living the best. :bigemo_harabe_net-123:
I wish you and yours all the best in the future!

David welcome aboard to this wonderful forum....I had the pleasure of meeting Madreya when he was on his mothers side and also met his full sister.
It's always nice to see horses as youngsters but even nicer to follow them and see how they mature and more importantly how they breed on into the next generation. I wish you all the best with his foals for next season. Lovely photos by the way. ;)

Thank you Trish,

Yes it is really something to see how young ones you have seen grow and mature. Madreya I am sure has not fully matured yet but already we are most impressed. Has he grown as you would have expected and have you seen his sister since and how does she compare...?

Yes Sandie is great at capturing the illusive pictures as we are not intense enough to have them trained and conditioned but being able to see the horses personality and beauty is really important as it is such a huge part of being an Arabian.

kindest regards, David and Sandie.

Thank you Demelza,

He washed up well, I should get him to stand up a bit but I was thrilled with these photo's, they allow us to see his strength and refined masculine type.

We are rather excited to see his SE and ER babies next season which will take for ever to arrive...!

How is your boy, has he covered anyone yet...?

Hi David.... I last saw his full sister as a long 2 year old and that was a few years back now. She had alot of growing to do then for as you know 2yr olds are not a favourable time for SE's much like good wine they need time to mature. I believe she headed down south into Victoria , I do pop down there from time to time so may run into her again....it would be interesting to see her now. I'm more familier with their dams other fillies up here in Sydney and the oldest daughter has just had her first foal this season .

Certainly patience is a good thing. Madreya has some maturing to do as well which makes me all the more excited to have the opportunity of using him. He will be a knockout in a year or two...! With both his sires damline and is direct damline being so significant we could not imagine better.

cheers, David.
