However, my focus is riding horses and people who ride only care that the horse in question carries a rider,
I love this.  And I do wish more people worried about that rather than other traits they focus on. And you aren't the type person who hasn't tested your mares that I was refering to: you are breeding to tested clear stallions, so it's not a shot in the dark. It's the "ignorance is bliss" in the breeding shed that I was refering to.

I'm so proud to be part of this group that is testing horses as they can while many of the large breeders are sitting on their hands refusing to test, or even those that have and haven't disclosed their carriers.

Hi Jan, I think it is back on page 1 of this thread.
Oops, I just went through all the links posted here and NONE of them connect or work.  Back to square 1 and I will go to the AHA genetics thread and try to get a current address as I have one to test.
Ok, so now I have found a link on the AHA -Education-Genetics topic.  The address is AHDC.vet.cornell.edu/news/lfs.cfm. Or just go to the AHA website and at the top you can click on the "Education" link and find it under the "Genetics" heading. Took me a minute but now I have printed off my forms and am ready to send them in.  They say it takes 10 business days to get the results.

There's also a test available through VHL in Holland
They have very good rates for the triple test SCID, CA and LFS.. AND they keep your horse's DNA records on data file.. So for example, I did NOT need to send in more hair for my LFS test, just the money, and they used the DNA profile that they had on him for that.

they don't give the prices on the website, but they sent a mailer out, so I responded to that..  They speak excellent English..
