Outside of a suspect SE group, I have never even seen a rumor of SCIDS in SEs. Please report any positive test results here. (I don't expect any)

Well, it is going on 2 years now since Pete put this topic up here. No responses, so far.

Does anyone know of an SE tested as a SCID carrier in the last decade?

this is a complete list of horses out of the Blunt Mare NEFISA - GSB*104. check out the horses and where each went. I found that each country where one of these horses went eventually had SCID horses. The RAS is not exempt but the pedigrees do not show this horse although he was supposed to have been used at the stallion depots. The horses from the USA that were supposed to be SCID belonging to Dr. Eno were not bred by the RAS/EAO I don't think. Many records could have vanished. just thinking out load!

This information has already been shared, but it doesn't seem to get much recognition, as the "explanation" is there must be a pedigree problem and he can't possibly be SE. But, the fact is that Shams Sirius was reported through the German Registry several years ago as being a SCID carrier. He was parent qualified as part of the registration process and is qualified by Pyramid Society definition as being Straight Egyptian.

It will take that each sE be tested or from clear parents to declare certainty.

Even allowing for anomalies, the results of testing is piece of mind ~ if positive the breeder can be guided by this.
