Sheriff's Auction of 47 Arabians - July 10th - Texas Star Arabians / Living Waters Arabians ??

I have been provided the following info from the a north Texas Humane Society:
Collin County Animal Shelter seized 48 Arabians a few weeks ago, and won them all but one who supposedly did not belong to owners in court yesterday. Per the judge they must attempt to sell them, however they don't think that will be successfull. So I am asking all of you interested to please come to the auction, and contact your rescue contacts. These poor horses have not had an easy life and I would love to see them go into loving homes where they will be cared for properly.
I've been provided the following website as the site where these horses came from: http://www.livingwatersarabians.com (looking through the pedigrees, etc. and then looking on Arab Data Source, they link to the owner being: Star Arabians, in Dallas (although I can't find a person's NAME to who is linked to these horses).
The auction is July 10th at 10 am. The horses are being auctioned because the judge says they need to be put up for sale before they can go to rescue. Collin County Volunteers are hoping to get enough supporters there to run off the kill buyers from purchasing these horses. I know it is a lot to ask, but if you can show up, it would be great. Tanja worked hard to get them seized and I'm sure she would hate to see one of them trucked to Mexico.
There are some HORRIBLE pics of these horses, and I'm attaching just a few so as not to take up lots of space, but there are LOTS MORE!!! Some of the horses, just to name a few I've been provided names of are:
Star of Granada
Star of England
Star Andromeda (who they say, on their website, Arlene Majid did a write-up on)
Soooooooooooo, WHAT CAN WE DO???? I'm going to be thinking what my organization (the Arabian Horse Rehoming Resource) can do. But looks like we need BUYERS at this auction. I'm also going to figure out a way to post ALL THE PICTURES somewhere so someone can decide if there's SOMETHING they can save at this auction. I hate it, but here we are in Texas, and the Mexico meat buyers will probably be at this sale ... CHEAP HORSE MEAT for them all in one location!!!

They also had set a minimum bid and said horses that did not achieve this bid could then be given for free to rescue organizations. Hopefully this will prevent them from making a trip to Mexico....
It's another big group, though, and the rescues are becoming overwhelmed with horses and lack of funds. It would be a great thing of the various rescues who could take in some of these post their info here so that people can help support these horses through their rescue group of choice.

Am I reading it correctly though that papers are not available and that AHA believes they will be difficult to impossible to get?
I contacted Anita Enander about these horses. Hopefully The Institute for the Desert Arabian Horse can help like they did last year!

For sake of time I have copied some info that I've gotten in the past day or two regarding this situation. I only wish everyone had tried to find out the real story behind this, as I have done. Those who haven't, should be ashamed.
There was ONE 3/4 acre to acre pen that had a dozen to 14 young mares in it and they had free choice hay that was a rye bermuda mix. She said that she also fed them 14% feed. The other horses were in much larger areas except for the mature Star stallions which had individual pens or two-to-a-oen situations. Most of the time they had a round bale in their pens and when it was too muddy she was square baling them. She has a 16 ft trailer was loaded with square hay and there were about 250-300 bales on the other trailer when they came and took the horses - she was feeding the horses. She said that Collin County said at court that they were feeding the horses using the UC Davis refeeding protocal. That could cause a drop in weight. What an opportune time to take photos of horses to prove one's point. I know that in one of CC's seizures they had a lot (6 or so) of horses in 20 x 20 pens at their own facillity with no shelter during 10 days of rain. Those horses were knee deep in mud, etc. They had one common feeder for the horses in each pen and they had alpha horses in with demure horses. When the people got the horses released they took them right to the vet's. The vet was disturbed by the condition of the horses and kept one there as he believed it now had an ulcer. The horse had lost over 100 lbs in those 10 days. The horse never did return home - the ulcer perforated and she died. They apparently just revert to this UC Davis protocal and horses that have been being fed are thus starved. They can do more harm than good. I was hoping this time that they would not have the same results but now I am wondering. Leslie, you and I both know that sometimes people that rescue are well meaning but just plain stupid and can do more damage than good. Besides the fact that they took horses out of their normal "family" groups, stressed them with a move that I understand was not pretty. From what I understand the horses were seized because their feet needed trimming not for lack of being fed. The farrier was trimming the horses. Several needed more time as they were not used to being handled and then he got sick.

Andromeda did go for $6,100.
The pregnant mare went for $2,000.
Almost everyone else seemed to go for between $250 and $500.
I left just before the end (a little after the horse I was interested in sold for more than I brought) so I didn't quite see the whole thing, but I only saw one horse that did not sell, one of the stallions.
There was a woman there with a small dog that was rumored to be an agent for Audrey and spent quite a bit of time texting during the auction. People seemed to be pretty vigilant, and though things were too crowded for me to see in every instance, I think she may have been outbid on all the ones she attempted to bid on. (In one entertaining instance, one person asked who she was bidding against. When the small-dog-woman was identified, she continued bidding until small-dog-woman was outbid.)
The cop running the auction seemed to be pretty surprised that the auction was so popular! Lots of publicity in this case, though.
I saw some people recording prices as the auction went, so I imagine that there is going to be some very detailed information soon.
All in all, quite an interesting experience.
