In the EBC forums, we want to foster a community that is willing to share opinions and information, to engage in spirited debate, and to offer useful and educational content. With that in mind, we believe a healthy community will take it upon itself to rebuke or ignore those whose conduct is detrimental to the community and support those whose contributions are particularly useful. While the latter is easier, we have less often seen a willingness by the community to do the former.

I believe that such reluctance stems, in part, from the frequency of personal attacks that have been made, most recently on the Exchorda discussion thread. At this point, the moderators feel we must specifically ask that posters refrain from personal attacks. Disagree with each other's views or opinions, but do not attack the other person. We will be using the warning system to *ahem* assist those who seem to have difficulty making the distinction and acting accordingly. Failure to adapt to this policy may compel us to exclude a poster from the community

Thank you. Some threads on this forum, and posters, make it almost unbearable for people to want to join in any way: discussions, ask about SE's, own or show Arabians etc. Hopefully all will be edited and/or excused on an equal basis. From what I have read in the past weeks, there is no good publicity on here and very little fruitfull discussion. Some have chased away newcomers or new thinkers for long enough.

Shucks . . . . take a few days away from the forum, and seems I missed something . . .

Like Suellen, I tend NOT to get wrapped up in discussions about specific horses.  In fact, I rarely even read them anymore.  The same old discussion, same old opinions, and same old battles . . . . frustrating.

Would LOVE to hear something NEW!  Learn something new . . . .

I am intrigued by your comment, "new thinkers".  Would you mind explaining this a little more?

I have high hopes that folks will go back and edit their own posts that contain any personal attacks. If not I'm not wasting my time and I'll just set the threads invisible.

Heidi......I did actually go and edit one post, but that won't really work anyhow because most all of the posts where some people  are calling people names are quoted multiple times by other people.

Agreed. I have stayed away a long time for just this reason. Upon lurking I found this and feel it's a great big step in the right direction. This forum has the potential to do so much good for the SE horses, and unfortunately that same potential exists for doing bad for them as well.

Trouble is that the people spreading the most negative remarks and doing the name calling see themselves as Victims and will continue anytime they are dissagreed with.

Which one is it? Are you going to expect people to post respectfully and warn them/delete them for violating or are you going to edit what they say and let their BS continue for us to read until you can get around to editing it? From where I'm sitting, and I know I'm not privvy to warnings and PM's, but it seems the hostile posters are still getting the slide.
