I had the pleasure of talking with Kieran Baker at the EE last year.  It's a great group of people working on it - I'm sure this will be authentic.

I doubt it, I seriously doubt it. So lets wait and see and then commend.

I am really looking forward to seeing this, and am glad that people were able to make a documentary about Lady Anne and her travels.

It's a very interesting portion of history on our Arabians, and we need to support those efforts that share the history with others.

Why do you think it will not be authentic? Is it the professional experience and background of those involved in this wonderful creation? Regardless, I am really looking forward to seeing this, and am glad that people were able to make a documentary about Lady Anne!

As I said, lets see it, and then commend.

I always thought her story would make a tremendous movie and wondered why Mike Nichols didn't do it....incidently if you ever saw the art film the Red Violin several years back there was a sequence which reminded me of the Wilfrid -Lady Anne relationship...turns out it was partly based on the story of her famous Stradavarius violin...a part of her life most horsepeople may be less aware of....

I'm looking forward to this movie too because I want to see how much they try to distort history... and I hope they do use authentic purebred Arabians that the real Lady Blunt would recognise- such as Rose of Sharon & Rafyk... somehow looking at the advisor to the movie there is Fat Chance of that happening. I have little confidence in 21st century Americans accurately interpreting the life of a 19th century English eccentric... Cheers, Richard Cerveny Ivahri Arabians

I believe the "horse expert" is an Egyptian Arabians breeder?  Is that right?  But then of course Egyptian Arabians are also partly Crabbet!!  Just stirring here!!!

I am looking forward to seeing this too, but I'm
holding my breath as I tend to agree with Richard's
and Alyth's sentiments expressed here.

While I can't say anything definitively
until I've seen it, I have a hard time believing they
sought out the wonderful Doyle horses here in the US
(which descend 100% from Lady Anne Blunt's desert-breds
plus her Abbas Pasha/Ali Pasha Sherif stock) or the
fabulously representative CMK stock owned by Michael
Bowling or Dee Van Gilder or, well the list just goes on.

I so hope I am wrong.

Yes Jil and other posters, I am waiting for it too. I made an earlier statement, being a little skeptical of the "atuthentics" in it.
I talked to someone who knows a lot about this issue many months ago, so we will wait and see.

I just hope it is not a political film. Sometimes it is so hard for some folks to keep true "history" intact. This does not refer to this film, because I havent seen it yet.

Regardless, I will buy a copy.

All take care

I agree totally with you.  I do not understand how people can be so negative on something that will hopefully be inspiring, regarldless of how "authentic" it may or not be.

I am sure we are all looking forward to seeing it.  And I don't think any of us are being negative - just realistic and skeptical about authenticity.  After all authenticity doesn't seem to be a high priority in the film world - it's all about entertainment!!  Always has and always will.  But those of us interested in the Arabian horse and its history probably know more about the story than the film makers!!!!!!
