Love the shoulder ! Overall a very nice horse. Cathy

cathy, this photo destorts somewhat, he is a "rectangular" horse- and does not have a long back, in case some folks think so. He also has an abundance of substance, real good legs and hoofs under him.to, as one can detect from this photo.
I studied him well when he was at Jo's.you correctly recognized his excellent shoulder, and he indeed is a longstriding excellent mover.

Now let's see who will take advantage of Jo's grand offer. We are too far way, over 1000 miles
I always felt it was the prior's owner best stallion they had at that time.

Sharon & I went to visit Joe today.  What a great afternoon we had!  Shemees looks just like his pictures, does not look his age at all!  He could easily pass for half his age!  Joe has a lovely group of mares & Shemees get.  We surely enjoyed seeing & meeting them, & Joe too.

DIane, my grand daughter Casey, and I had a delightful visit with Joe, Shemees, his lovely mares, and other horses.  Shemees is in fantastic shape, and his foals are very, very nice, as are their dams. All of the horses are extremely friendly and a delight to be around as well as a pleasure to watch.  We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to seeing them again.

Yes it is great that you took the time to go see Shemees and Joe.  More breeders need to go visiting, just like we used to do in what we now call the "old days".  Hopefully there will be some new Shemees foals before he passes away :) especially for those who love the Hamdan blood.

I agree Judi. It's OK to go to shows and see the horses, but MUCH better to go to farms and see all the horses and  whole programs.

Dear Sharon

so glad you went to see Shemees, Joe and all his horses. As you noticed he is so humble, and often grossly taken advantage off, helping everybody and never ask for a penny or a return. However, this has nothing to do with the stallion.

Take care

I have to agree.  It really doesn't have anything to do with the stallion at all.

Kathy, I brought this up to let our people know that they are dealing with, an honest, reputable Gentlemen, because there are "crooks" in the industry, shying away from nothing.I also feel it is good when we advise our people of the good or bad in order to avoid problems and tears. In this case I know Joe since about 1994, know him well. Regardless, I would not  destort one way or the other a horse because of friendship.

take care

My mom and I are hoping to see this lovely stallion in the next week or so. I shocks me more people have not shown interest in this stallion. Looks superb to me. I truly hope to see this EAO product in the flesh even if I don't have a match, that's for sure!

I don't have a match for him, but I certainly enjoyed seeing him and Joe definitely has matches for him.  He has some very nice offspring on the ground.

Looking forward to seeing you next week.

Well, mom and I finally got our tail-ends out to Joe's lovely place, or heaven - if you will, and got to see this wonderful old stallion. I concur with everything said about him: legs, feet, shoulder, type, ability to produce substance when crossed onto substance, etc et al, and can not believe he is 29.
I got to see yearlings through 5 year-olds, male and female, as well as most of their dams. I could see where some of his influence was and what he allowed to come through from the dams, which was a lot. He added roundness to his foals, reinforced superb legs, joints and feet, while allowing the pretty and the substance to come through. Legs were excellent in the entire herd. Temperments were excellent as well. Shemees was being groomed in the same pasture as 2 of his yearling babies while tied to a pen that housed an awesome chestnut mare that he was breeding. Didn't get to see him move more than a walk with a beautiful, loose shoulder.
Joe also has a 5 y/o Shemees son, who is quite the mini-me with a little more "pretty" that his sire, and I am so interested to see how he produces as well.
If you have a large-bodied mare who is in dire need of a genetic outcross (come on now, people, be honest with yourself), get her to Shemees. Seriously. Get her there. His babies speak for themselves.
