Thanks Jan..and yes, she IS a strong mare..It amazes me what she has been through..and I adore her even more!  How can you care for something, 24/7 times three solid weeks, without feeling not only amazement but pure unadulerated unconditional love.  When she was down, I laid beside her and sobbed into her face. The only fussing I did to her was while she was sedated, told her she was too placid..to protect herself more.  She has only winced one or two times during hosing..what a good girl!

Keep the good thoughts coming and thank you all!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so sorry Suellen!  I wish ya'll lived close to us so we could help each other out.  I would be there with you.  I hate being so far away and the helpless feeling of it.  Ya'll are definitely in my prayers and on my mind.  Hugs to you.

Thank you Julie..I truly appreciate that sentiment!!!!!!!  I am truly thankful for all my friends and loving horse people...just checked her, and while still draining here and there, she is perkier, eating some..I am hopeful!

More drama, Georgia Inasa is again available for leasing or sale!  Potential buyer has strung me out since end of February..."so excited" ... so where is the contract and down payment?  She was supposed to be picked up and delivered, thanks to a dear friend, tomorrow....would you let this superior broodmare go without paperwork?

Why do people treat others as they do??????   ARGGH!

Well, Elegant Dahncer is in the vet clinic this evening..we found a CHUNK of bone in her lower vulva this afternoon, Please pray her pelvis will be ok..I do not care whether we can ever breed her again, i just want her to be able to walk and enjoy the rest of her life!

Hi Sandy...thank you for asking...this is a nightmare!!  Thought we could take her home on Saturday evening, her leg is healing nicely and incision from horizonal operation  into her hip is ok..but vet found another couple of splinters in her vulva last night.  She is very alert, standing full support on her left leg, looks like a leg again, but this splintering stuff..whew!  Course this tissue is clean, was scraped again and hole is closing in, so healing, I suppose.  Lots of time.  She had dropped over 100 pounds..and we are building her back slowly..and she is alive, vet says with some attitude.  Medicine lady had to chase her around the stall...LOL

Please keep the good thoughts and prayers coming...I truly miss her not being here....And people, please look hard at these other mares...I am not asking much for any of them..worth 4-5 times what I am asking...NEED to get rid of them and retire with just my ornaments!

Wow, what taht poor mare has been through! And yout as well! For a bit of hope, I have a friend who had an older Russian-bred mare that she got for free because the mare had been hit by a car, and suffered a broken pelvis. Not only did Penney survive, she lived to a fairly advanced age, & even had 2 more foals withou any comlications! SO y'all hang tough! And hope you can find good homes for the rest.

Wow..thanks Sandy..that IS good news....leaving her there over the weekend, just to be on safe side..no bandages off today, they were too clean..whew!  I am so tired of all the turmoil..just think I will call up the rehoming place and let them all go there...getting to be too much for me, with Dewey too...all the testing etc...wears a person out!

Aw, Suellen, that is so sad, I hope you do not have to resort to that! There just has to be a buyer for mares that nice! I know th market has been tough the past few years, but......

My boy, too, broke his pelvis, as you know.  He has since recovered, runs around his paddock, has bred his first mare, bucks, rears, does flying leaps while kicking up at the air and generally seems happy and comfortable.  There is hope, Suellen.

Aww, thanks Sandy and Angella, however, the vet has not said her pelvis is broken, just splintered.  It is those splinters that lay down tracks and then she has to be scraped..these were very small ones, not chunks as before, and as of Saturday AM, there was little draining, the bandages were clean again, and she is eating well. No more necrotic tissue, and when leg flushed, the fluid came back out rather than running down into another hole inside..so that tissue has grown back inside..whew!

I think we shall get her home this afternoon/evening..I am starting to get excited, but I have not heard from the vet yet..awful early this morning.

Thank you all for the kind thoughts and prayers..and so glad to hear recovery is forthcoming.

oh sullin, i'm so sorry to hear this news.  With my move I have Been out of the loop. Poor Dancer. She is such a lovely lady. I will be praying for a full recovery.
