Thanks for the update, Hansi. I think of you often, and was wondering how you were doing.
Hansi, I wanted to THANK YOU and to tell you that many years ago, back on the old Se dot com, with your informative posts and encouragements to ride, you resparked an interest in Dressage in me. I had always wanted to try, but never had. Because of that push, I decided to give it a try with my SE/AK/Asil mare Aimbri Ansarah . I went to a couple of clinics and a training show. We rode our first test in 2013, placing 3rd at the Saskatchewan provincials. The next year, 2014, we showed in both Classical and in the new Western Dressage. We placed 2nd in Classical, and 3rd in Western Dressage at Provincials. Last year, 2015, we showed in Western Dressage and Western Horsemanship. We won a Top 6 at Western Canada Breeders in Western Horsemanship, as well as in Showmanship. And at the Region 17 Championships, we won a Reserve Championship in Western Horsemanship, as well as a Top 5 in Western Dressage and in Showmanship. We also showed in Western Dressage in several all breed shows. From those results, we ended up receiving a Top 10 Performance Award from the Institute for the Desert Horse, a Top 8 from the Western Style Dressage Association of Canada, Amateur Level 1, and I was named Reserve Champion Amateur for 2015 by the Saskatchewan Arabian Horse Association.
In addition, I also showed my SE/AK/Asil colt, Aimbri El Kaream in both Sport Horse in Hand (2 Regional Championships), and in Main Ring Halter(2 Regional Top 5's), and also showed my SE/AK/Asil mare, Aimbri Fawzia (who's damline traces back to YOUR breeding program) in SHIH, where she received 2 Western Canada Breeders Top 6 awards, and although just missing the Top 5 at Regionals in a strong class, she received the BEST feet and legs scores of the class by one of the 3 judges. This mare has been started under saddle, with a view to being shown in Dressage.
Taking another of your suggestions, I sold 4 of my SE/AK/Asil horses last year into the hands of young people who are riders. All 4 horses are under saddle, one in Endurance, and 3 in Western Dressage, with the gelding Aimbri Ibn El Matrabb competing to the 2015 World Western Dressage Championships. He received a Region 17 Top 5 in Western Dressage, and also garnered a WSDAC Top 10, and a Institute for the Desert Horse Top 10 as well.
I wanted to THANK YOU again for all your hard work in the past, your knowledge and education, and your persistence that we take our SE horses OUT of the "pasture ornament" realms, into the competitive arena, and show the world what they can do! THANK YOU so much for encouraging me to do that!

I have not been on this site in quite a while. I am sorry to hear you had a bad time with your knee replacement. I hope you are feeling better and able to ride again. It is amazing what they can do with the artificial joints now. My sister took a fall off her horse, broke her hip and had to have hip replacement. They had her walking around the next day, after 2 months of physical therapy she was like her old self and they let her start riding again at 6 months.
