Shar Tahl AE (RayZaar x AE Tahlmorra (Ali Jamaal)), 2002 black-bay mare with rabicano roaning.  Small (14.2), but quick and exceedingly athletic.  Has all the moves to be a top reining horse, and all the "go" to be a top endurance horse for a lightweight rider.  Old World, very classic looks.  Nothing too extreme, but absolutely everything about this mare shouts "ARABIAN"!!  Natural high tail carriage.

Her sire has been used very little, and produces gorgeous foals.  He's a grandson of Fa Halima and Moniet El Sharaf, and a halter champion in his own right, plus I believe was started toward a performance career before he was sold.

Mom is a halter winner by Ali Jamaal, and out of a Pritzlaff/El Hilal/desert mare with a little Crabbet thrown in.

I've had to make the hard decision to stick with the business plan of Straight Egyptians.  This is a wonderful mare, as a companion or performance prospect.  And likely as a broodmare.  This is a hand-raised foal, so can be very strong willed.

Asking $4,000, but mention you saw her here and your price is $3,500.  Will consider cash offers.  Terms are available to the right person with vet/personal references.  May also consider a lease or lease-to-buy option.  I must reduce numbers a bit since I'm out of a job, and a good home that will use this mare to her full potential is very important to me.

Photos below were taken March 2009 and she was still in winter coat.  (Photo at the trot taken 6/07.)

She has an exquisite head, IMHO.  I've been very outspoken about seahorse or dolphin heads and my dislike of them.  Shar's Ansata and Babson breeding come through very clearly in her type.

And those photos were in her winter woolies!  When she shed out and the coarser winter hair was gone, you can see very clear signs of the skin drying along the muzzle and above the eyes.  Her granddam had a gorgeous, dry head, and it looks as if Shar will, too.  It's already much more dry than her dam's was at the same age.

Can't believe my lovely girl is still looking for a new home!  Here are some newer photos: video captures from 10/09 of her in motion.  She's a powerful and balanced mover!

The 2010 show and breeding season is upon us!  Not too late to start her under saddle and hit the shows next summer!

If I weren't trying to pick a direction and stick with it (Straights), I wouldn't be selling her!!  OK, that and I think she has a stellar under saddle career ahead of her, and that certainly isn't happening here.  She did create a brief stir over at ABN last week.  Maybe people will remember her once the holiday chaos is over and done.

Can you imagine if you had bred her to that Babson/Julep stallion you leased over the summer?  What a foal that would have been...!!!

Kimberley,

It was great speaking with you today and I hope that we can work something out.  The photos of this Mare are exceptional and she is a real Natural Beauty.  I hate altered photos of any kind and really appreciate the way you look at the true beauty of a horse. :)

Thanks, Dee.  Horses are beautiful creatures, even the "ugliest" of them.  A show clipped/shaved/greased horse is offensive to my eye.  And it says absolutely nothing about the horse -- or what kind of shaved/naked chicken it looks like when everything is removed.  Kind of like seeing a super model on the runway, then seeing her backstage with the clothes and makeup off -- eww!

Photographing a horse au naturel, especially where the personality simply shines through like that head study of Shar by my friend, Bonnie Robb, tells a much more honest story.  And it takes a person that truly loves horses to see what lies beneath!  LOL  I'm more impressed by people that come to my barn and put their hands all over my horses, rather than those that stand back and look.

Wow... I didn't realize I'd let this ad sit here for so long...

Everybody's favorite princess is still looking for a new home!  During the spring and early summer, I spent a lot of time working with her in the lunge pen with saddle, bridle, and bitting up.  She's ready to go, but I simply don't have the money to have her backed and trained.  Someone is going to get a wonderful athlete here!  Reining, cattle work (although she is not familiar with cows, she definitely has "the moves") and/or endurance will definitely be up this girl's alley!

I'm easy going with terms, if you are the right home with good references.  Let's talk!

I'm very motivated to reduce numbers by the end of this month... Let's talk on this mare!  I want to see her go to a home where she will be used.

I will definitely consider packaging her with my Thee Desperado son -- she was bred specifically for him, before I moved to Straights.  Will even consider a deeper discount if I can get a filly back from breeding those two together...

She's also in the trade thread, if you have a 2-horse BP trailer or commuter car/truck you need to get rid of...

Bumping up.  Still looking to get Shar off to a new home!  Price has been reduced to $3500 in all ads...  Offers welcome!!  Right home is as important as getting her sold.  Trades are still on the table (2 horse BP trailer, commuter car/truck).  May consider a concession where I can get a filly back from her, or a future broodmare lease.

Let's talk!

Adding some family history here...

Shar is by Rayzaar, an EE Top Ten Stallion. I found this site for a charity auction featuring a son of Rayzaar, and click on the montage photo to see Rayzaar himself:
http://www.charitybu...g_items/2177180

I've never seen photos of Rayzaar's sire, AK Nazaar, but he is by *Ibn Moniet El Nefous and out of 1980 US National Champion Mare, Fa Halima. That's top Bentwood breeding right there! He is out of Moniet Bint Sabah, an elegant Moniet El Sharaf daughter out of a Babson mare. You can clearly see where Shar got her build!
http://www.shootings...horses/Mona.htm

I can't find any photos of her dam, AE Tahlmorra, unfortunately (even though I bred and owned her for 10 years... what's with that? Bad horse breeder, bad!!). Tahlmorra's sire, Ali Jamaal, needs no introduction. However, here are photos of Tahlmorra's dam, LA Ranatta:

Attached File  Natta.jpg   23.33K   2 downloadsAttached File  Natta Gambit.jpg   53.47K   2 downloads

Natta was shown twice at halter when heavily pregnant, and took Champion Mare and Reserve Champion Mare here in CA. This was prior to my ownership of her in 1990. The headstudy was taken by Jeff Gerhart in 1994. The foal in the body shot, also taken 1994, is The Gambit AE (by Thee Desperado), also offered for sale and available as a package deal with Shar.  Arlene Magid did a writeup on Gambit, which includes background on Natta's family line.  I'm happy to forward to you if you are interested in knowing more about the non-Egyptian blend of Crabbet and Desert (*Mirage & *Urfah) in her background.  Many athletes in that line!

Bumping up -- would love to get this lady to a new home to get her off to a job, whether under saddle or in the broodmare barn!

Also, a note that the package deal with The Gambit AE is no longer available, as Gambit has sold!  Congratulations to Laura VanLier of Temple, TX!

An impromptu photo session from a friend who stopped by at the barn today. Shar really is ready to back... She's been off under-saddle prep work for over a month. Later work was done with side reins, and she remembers everything from the summer.

I'll post 3 total, but more are available. Just PM me!
